Disposable alliances: Aragon and Castille during the War of the two Pedros and beyond
Abstract
This paper focuses on the King of Aragon (Pere III 1336-1387) and his
deceptive practices as a diplomat. By tracing the diplomatic developments between
Aragon and Castile during this time frame, one is struck not only by Pere III’s
double-dealing, but also by how deeply France and England were affected by the
“minor” states of Spain.
